Is anyone really lucky? Let's simplify it. What we call luck is really a combination of three things chance, preparation, and perception. Welcome to Good Vibes Only. I am your host, Sharon, and let's dive right into it. Luck isn't something you have, it's something that you can create more of. Have you ever looked at someone's someone else's success and thought, maybe they're just lucky? Maybe it's the person who always seems to land, you know, the big deal, the one who meets the right people at the right time, of course. Or the one whose career just takes off the skyrockets. So the question is, is anyone really lucky? Let's break this down. There's the myth of luck when people say, luck, that's what matters. It's success. They can't fully see behind it. Because from the outside, success looks clean, effortless, almost accidental. But what we don't see the preparation, the consistency, the risk taken behind the scenes. So while luck feels like the answer, it's usually not the full story. The three drivers behind luck, let's simplify it. What we call luck is really a combination of three things. Chance. There's randomness in life, who you meet, when opportunities show up, timing. Two people can equally be talented, but one gets the opportunity first. That part, that's real. Preparation. Here's where things start to separate. When opportunity shows up, are you ready for it? Because the same situation can produce two very different outcomes. One person follows up, one person doesn't. One takes action, one hesitates, and suddenly one is lucky. Perception. I like that one. We're wired to see the highlight reel. We notice wins more than we notice failures. We notice the outcome more than we notice the effort. And we tend to label other people's success as luck while calling our own success hard work. I'm sure you'll agree with that one. Flipping the perspective. Here's the refrain that changes everything. Luck isn't something that you have, it's something that you can create more of, not by controlling outcomes, but by increasing your exposure to opportunities. How to create more luck? Well, if you want more luck or lucky moments in your life or career, here's where I would tell you to focus. Take more swings. More activity equals more chances. Build more relationships. Opportunities often come through people, not plans. Stay consistent. You can't capitalize on what you're not around for. Learn and adapt quickly. When the door opens, be ready to walk through it. The truth about high performers, if you study high performers, you'll hear a pattern. They don't rely on luck. They put themselves in positions where good things are more likely to happen. I'm going to say that one again. They put themselves in positions where good things are more likely to happen. And when they do, they move fast. So I'll ask it again. Is anyone really lucky? Yes, there's an element of chance, but the people who seem the luckiest, they're usually the most prepared, the most consistent, and the most willing to act. So instead of waiting for luck, start stacking the odds in your favor. Thanks for tuning in. And remember, the next opportunity might already be out there. You just have to be ready when it shows up. So good vibes in, good vibes out, good vibes only.
